I ran/walked the 20th Annual Portland Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure today with my best friend Ms. Baseball and her family. We have made a tradition out of racing together the past couple of years and it has been such a fun event! I love all of the support that is shown for survivors, free goodies and of course all of the pink!! Such an amazing event! I highly recommend being a part of your local race if you can! We have learned that it is best to sign up for either a timed event (but then you pay more for the race chip) or the coed/women's RUN not walk. If you do the walk, you are in a cattle herd for at least the first 1.5 miles. We learned the hard way the first year...
I love telling my students about the races! It's a great way for them to get to know me as a real person and for them to feel a part of my life outside of school! I hang all of my race bibs on my wall above my desk. I've also found it sparks a lot of conversation and common interests between volunteers and parents who come in the room! Do you do anything like this?
Happy Running!

good for you!! I registered this year but then I ended up having to house-sit out in Forest Grove so I couldn't make it this year. But I had a lot of fun last year!
